Three things to do if you’ve been injured in an accident – Connecticut – Massachussetts

1) take pictures 2) don’t talk about who was at fault 3) don’t negotiate anything on the spot.

1) Pictures can be used as evidence to help prove your case and show who was at fault / what the damages are / what the layout of the scene was.

2) Remember the mantra “anything you say can and will be used against you”? Well, we’re not talking about a criminal matter but the same idea rings true. Anything you say can be used in court against you. Avoid talking about the fault because you may say something that hurts your case.

3) Some people negotiate deals on the spot “Sorry I hit you, will you take $400 cash?” DON’T DO IT. You may have injuries that far exceed $400. A lot of injuries aren’t immediately apparent and worsen with time. And 4) drive safely. Don’t have a Taco Bell entrée spread across your lap while you’re texting in the fast lane tailing a poor little old lady and blinking your brights at her to make her go faster. Unsafe! Be well!
