Connecticut Man Arrested For Nude Break-In and Masturbating Over Sleeping Woman

Ashford, CT (May 25, 2026) — Connecticut State Police have arrested a 44-year-old Ashford man accused of breaking into a neighbor’s residence while nude and committing a sexual act in front of the female occupant.

Incident Details

According to the Connecticut State Police Criminal Information Summary (Report # 2600160972), the incident occurred on May 20, 2026, at apartments located at 149 Ashford Center Road in Ashford.

Troopers responded after reports that a male had broken into the apartments. The victim, a 28-year-old woman, told police she woke up to find the man inside her residence. He was reportedly nude and began masturbating over her while she was lying on her couch. The woman was able to shove him out of her home.

The suspect was later identified as a neighbor who lived on the second floor of the same building.

The Arrest

When Troopers located Laramie Briggs Jr. inside his apartment, he initially refused to come out and speak with them. Police made entry into the residence and issued verbal commands, after which Briggs complied and was taken into custody without further incident.

Briggs, born October 17, 1981, was transported to Troop C. He faces the following charges:

  • 53a-102 Burglary in the Second Degree (1 count)
  • 53a-167a Interfering with Officers / Resisting (1 count)
  • 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct (1 count)

Bond and Court Appearance

A duty supervisor set Briggs’ bond at $150,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
